“Connect the World”
Keynote presentation Dr. Hamadoun Touré, Secretary General for the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and champion of the "Connect the World" initiative to bring technology to rural areas and developing nations.

For 34 years, Intelsat has hosted the Global Telecommunications Meeting (GTM) for the telecommunications industry, providing an unparalleled forum for bilateral trading. The New GTM 2008 will continue to deliver a superior networking environment, but we've also added compelling and relevant content, addressing the real business and social issues affecting our industry and the World-both regionally and globally.

"Connect the World" is the theme of GTM 2008. We are partnering with the International Telecommunication Union to bring together business, technology and government leaders to focus on how connecting the world can mean business in developing and rural regions. Dr. Hamadoun Touré, Secretary General of the ITU will be one of our featured keynote speakers.

We also welcome our media partners, including BusinessWeek, who will be leading and participating in key sessions.

We intend to address broader, global industry issues impacting corporate network operators, carriers and the government services sector. Also on the agenda will be the key issues for companies with aspirations to expand in the Africa, Latin America and Asia Pacific regions, including DTH, IPTV, Triple and Quadruple plays, winning business models and regulation.

In addition to Dr. Touré's session, other planned conference tracks will offer panels and interactive discussions that delve into strategies for success from thought-leading corporate network, carrier and government services executives. Sessions will be moderated by carriers, customers and journalists from leading media outlets.
